Bi-Weekly Sale Wines

Prices in effect June 21st till July 4th

2015 Aphros Ten – Vinho Verde, Portugal $22.95 – SALE $19.95

Forming with Alvarinho the most aromatic duo of Vinho Verde varieties, Loureiro finds its fullest expression in Lima Valley. With primary aromas where citrus fruits predominate, young Loureiro wines typically show floral notes of Laurel and Roses. Litchi, peach, apple and perfumed melon are other possible nuances around the citric core. As it ages (good Loureiro wines age marvelously) the minerality comes forth with smokeyness and petroleum, with hints of dried fruits, orange blossom and honey.
“Loureiro is a grape so light and subtle it makes Audrey Hepburn look like a heavy weight”. Jonathan Nossiter

2014 Bistrologie Rosé – Languedoc, France $19.95 – SALE $17.95

Jeff Carrel has done it again! From Languedoc comes this dynamite rose made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. Deliciously fruity with ripe strawberries, sour raspberries, and plump plum. Perfect for the first couple weeks to kick off summer! Bistrologie Rose can accompany that BBQ and salad or even shine on its own. It’s hot out there. This will keep you cool.

2015 Les Cerises Saint-Chinian – Languedoc, France $20.95 – SALE $18.95

This wine comes from a good little spot in Languedoc called Saint-Chinian, about an hour and a half drive north of the Spain/France border. As soon as you smell this wine you’ll know why it’s called “Les Cerises” (cherries). This wine is a blend of Syrah, Carignan, Granache, and Cinsault. The palate is very round and fruity (thank you Cinsault!) It’s a fresh wine that is sure to please the masses – a little hotty to drink with friends!

2015 Domaine de Ferrand Mistral – Rhone Valley, France – $21.95 SALE $19.50

This is a wine that’s hard not to love vintage after vintage. The 2015 vintage is a blend of Granache, Syrah, and Vaccarese. The vines hug the amazing Chateauneuf du Pape region in stone soils and relatively hot temperatures. This is good news for Granache, because it loves to grow ripe in the heat! Try Mistral with BBQ ribs, steak salad, grilled vegetables, and baked potato. These foods are best friends to this wine!
