Sarah “2.0” Lawson
After graduating from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management, Sarah set out in the corporate world. For almost two years, she has worked in the Emergency Response Management sector of the Oil and Gas Industry, but has always been passionate about wine production and viticulture. Sarah joined the J. Webb team in September 2015 where she earned the nicknames Sarah #2, Sarah 2.0, and/or Sarah II. Her ambition to learn anything and everything about wine is fierce! When Sarah isn’t immersed in wine textbooks, you’ll find her on the mountain, shredding some serious powpow on skis.
Cam joined the J. Webb family in late 2015. With a background in the wine industry and business development, he has an undeniable passion for anything Wine, Beer, and Food. He is also a big fan of Narwhals; after all, they are the Unicorns of the Sea. When he is not writing music or going to festivals, you can catch him at both the Glenmore Landing and Casel Marché shops.
Ross McEachern -“Paparossi”
A member of the J. Webb team since October 2015, Ross works primarily at our Farmers Market location. With years of experience in the retail side of things, he has an extreme passion for craft beer. While traveling he is sure to be found exploring the local craft scene in breweries and brew pubs. Along with his passion for craft beer, Ross loves finding new wines to try, especially to pair with those perfect meals. Whether you are looking for that perfect patio beer, or a great wine for dinner, he’s sure to help you out!
Bleddyn joined the J. Webb family in 2014. Originally from Wales, Bleddyn lived and worked in London for quite some time before a move to Canada meant a career change was on the cards. Fortunately, unbeknown to Bleddyn, he had been studying for this career change for a number of years by tasting new wines whenever he could find them. Bleddyn is also a keen traveler and his passion for travel has given him the opportunity to visit wineries, try local wines, and taste traditional cuisine in many corners of the globe. Bleddyn takes his responsibility of recommending wines very seriously, and will ask you many questions to ensure that you are happy with the wine you take home.
Sharon joined the J. Webb family in 2011 when the 17th Ave (Casel Marché) store opened coming with over 15 years in the Events & Banquets industry. After completing the International Sommelier Guild (ISG) Diploma in 2010 she looked towards a new direction in the wine industry and found a joint passion for supporting small production, family run and sustainability-focused estates within the J. Webb mantra. With a passion to keep learning, Sharon has also completed Level 3 of the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). She loves being able to help novice wine drinkers out of their comfort zone. Sharon’s favourite place to travel (so far!) has been to Reims – and of course biking in Burgundy!
Kevin started with the J. Webb team in 1998 and continues his role today as head forager of new wines. His travels have taken him zigzagging across Europe, down under to Australia, uncovering the wilds of Chile, scouring California and even to the high deserts of Arizona, all in the name of one thing – finding amazing wines. Kevin is driven to fill the shelves of J. Webb with wines that fit his mantra “always support the little guy, think organic, think sustainably and family comes first”.
Connor joined the J Webb family July of 2014. His passion for wine and food had been passed down by his family, and he brings a “try anything once” attitude wherever he goes. When he’s not on the road, you can find Connor cooking, dining, or reading up on the latest and greatest the wine industry has to offer any palette. If you manage to spot him, be sure to ask for a suggestion. You know it’ll be well-thought and interesting!
Kevin has been a part of the J.Webb family for just over 5 years and is affectionately known as Kevin “R” or Kevin “The Beer Guy”. You’ll find him always excited to talk about the latest and greatest beers he’s been keenly seeking out and bringing into the shop. He is a wealth of knowledge having completed his Cicerone exam, (that’s a fancy word of saying a beer sommelier) and does in fact know about wine as well having completed his WSET 3. He’s a triple threat as he’s also around the shop updating the Scotch section and at the back of our Glenmore store hosting our weekly tasting events.
